on the bus for work this morning, siggimus was joined by about 700 noisy little kindergarten hellraisers on an excursion
700 i tellya!! at least!!!
it’s not the first time siggimus encounters such an invasion by the little folk, but never before in these numbers. for a few mins they just kept pouring in through the door, with their rosy cheeks & noisy squeaks & raising hell all over. first batch was a little over 550 (rough estimate, gave up counting after 308), but at next stop a few more of the little critters poured in, ending up with a heap three deep
reading the newspaper with wilco’s a ghost is born loud in his ears, siggimus attempts to ignore the squeaking little rats, but is quickly surrounded & nearly buried alive in fleece-hatted-creatures. soon he notices that the brats sitting behind him are reading the paper over his shoulder. well, dunno about “reading,” but they looked intently & one even looked irritated when siggimus turned a page. maybe wasn’t finished looking at some picture
noticing that his stop was coming up, siggimus broke a little sweat & near-panicked, worrying he was trapped in this sea of snotty-nosed hyperactive chaos. packed newspaper & got ready to get up & pleaded passionately with 3 little ones in the seat next to him to let him pass. they did & siggimus began the journey through the pile toward the door
an excellent swimmer, siggimus made it to the door in the nick of time & managed to get out with little incident. some 17 rascals popped out as siggimus exited, but siggimus threw most of them back in & held while the doors were closing
