although work is practically a nomansland these days — you could go days without seeing or even smelling a human — we always have this jolly little feller to comfort us & soothe
just gave wife a new p&s camera for to document the coming of the wee one
as befits, the gadget was taken for a test run
most of the testing was done with the macro
there were some great colours around
it was quite beautiful out, had just stopped raining
lots of drops all over
even on the christmas trees
no drops here
nor here, just a sleepy cat
kinda happy about it. will play more soon
here’s all of the pics in a slideshow on flickr
& here’s an overview of them all:
that loud noise this morning?
that was probably the sonic boom caused by siggimus cycling by at lightning speed, risking life & limb, seeking to gloriously better his previously (& thitherto undisputed) world record (& personal best) at cycling from his house to his work!
so, that one is now in dispute, old news, has-been, as it has been bettered!
so, there is a new (hitherto undisputed) world record (& personal best) at cycling from siggimuses house to siggimuses work!
trattera! read’em & weep (sob even & water mice & whatnot):
up from 15:27, that’s a besting of 17 seconds! best that!
(click that thingy to see bigger & those thingies to see further exhibits of proof)
on wednesday, siggimus took a day off from work to join jodazzz on a trip out of town to … well, let’s call it sunbathing … in full fishing gear, including thick neoprene waders & a rod on the shoulder …
’twas mighty hot, enough to melt cheese in underpants

last weekend, we traveled to árneshreppur in strandir, west fjords, iceland, europe, northern hemisphere, planet earth …
there was driving & driving & driving & driving & driving on bumpybumpybumpy roads, there was outdoors bathing in midnight sun near the arctic circle, there was a cosy guesthouse, a cosy café, there were ruins, there were sheep galore! there were friendly people & there was gvendarlaug hins góða natural pool
’twas mighty cool

is ours!
after all that hard work, victory in our company size group is ours!
(actually, crushing, demolishing, annihilating victory is ours)
(leftmost plaque – most days cycled per person – 12,16 (out of 13)
rightmost plaque – most kms cycled per person – 264,39)
mind you, the proof is in the pudding!
while endlessly proud of himself, siggimus is quite possibly & probably dead
on the last day of cycle to work, he somehow managed to go 77,55 km, bringing the grand total for those 13 days to 400,82 km
but how did siggimus do it? what’s the secret?
superhuman strength was involved, of course, but mostly it was fed by an overgrown stubbornness, that inability to surrender to the facts and admit defeat, even in the face of death or serious mutilation
in short, during cycle to work 2010, siggimus managed to:
ps: now with updates!
yay!
you’ll find all the juicy bits (read: uninteresting anal details) here
(feel free — nay, feel obliged! — to lavish all kinds of praise on siggimus for this feat in comments down under)
