for the third year in a row, siggimus survives cycle to work

it is now five days since siggimus unmounted his trusty steed, & he has sufficiently recovered to bring you:

ctw 2011 report, extended version

in yet another victory of stubbornness and cantankerous determination, siggimus manages to cycle more than last year. last year he did a venerable 400,82 km, but this time around he went all the way up to 11 and turned in 528,42 km

yes, ladies & gentleman, that is, by siggimuses reckoning, roughly half the way to the moon

ctw 2011 in bullets:

  • turned in full house, 15 days, or 100%
  • going a total of 528,42 km
  • taking approximately 27 hours 13 mins and 15 seconds, or so to do it
  • which equates to roughly 19,3885950158155 km/h on average
  • that’s an average of 35,23 km per day
    • and 2 hours, 5 mins and 38 seconds per day on the bike
  • this is 21,23 km over the 14 kms it takes to get to work and back
    • each day
    • a total of 318 km over the 210 km required to get to work and back 15 times
  • that’s like going 35,2 times to work and back, in 15 days
    • or to use a bigger number, 251,63% more cycling than required to merely go to work and then go home again
  • 2 shortest days were 22,18 km
  • longest 2 days were around 60 km
    • first there was 58,9 km
    • then there was 61,22 km
  • there were bunnies, plenty of bunnies
  • mostly, the weather was beautiful
  • compared to 2010, this:
    • equals 100% in days
    • is 31,83% over the distance 400,82 km
    • longest day 61,22 km vs. 77,55 last year
  • compared to 2009, this is:
    • better than 85,7% in days
    • 129,28% over the distance 230,47 km
  • compared to colleagues this is:
    • fifth place, out of 41
    • 167,27% of the overall average of 315,9 km
    • 104,1% of the overall average of 14,4 days
    • still, only 52,89% of what the #1 dood did (1018,3 km! (he’s french!!))
  • the company ended up crushing the competition in its size group, plus:
    • placed 15 in number of days total, with 14,41 (all the other companies at the top have 8 employees or less, vs. our 41)
    • placed 3rd in total number of kms, with 315,9 (winner has 15 employees, 2nd place has 5)
  • took a few pics along the way. you’ll find everything cycle-related here, start by scrolling past this post

now it’s your turn. tell siggimus he’s superhuman, that his stubbornness deserves a prize
