excellent, to say the least
quite worth the wait, & now siggimus is 1 step closer to being able to die happy
it is a distinct possibility that after the pixies concert in a month, siggimus will keel over & die with a satisfied grin sculpted on his face
anyhoo, dr. gunni was rocking good, playing a massive set
old siggimus was especially happy to get to hear such anxient favourites as aleinn í bíó, öxnadalsheiði & mónakó again live. something he had given up on a long time ago…
so, den de men stepped up & started doing deir stuff & it was wicked indeed
go violent femmes!!
siggimus sung himself hoarse, taking painstaking care to sing along with all the words to all the songs, although color me once gave him a bit of bother
brian was terrific, punishing that bass like it was pure evil. & just when siggimus was about to get sour that he wasn’t playing anything but the bass (the man can play pretty much everything!!) he went over to the xylophone for gone daddy gone
victor tried to steal the show, & did at times. incredible stuff he can squeeze out of that tiny little wannabe drumset
gordon was everything we expected, that whiny voice of his being perfect for their songs
so, siggimus is happy, & the 15 year wait was worth it 🙂
de afterparty was a bit of a letdown; mingling with friends of m & benni (his band, skátar were playing) & chewing tobacco smoke for 2 hours only to find out from that curly haired feller that the band was booked on a flight out at 4.30
still, siggimus does not regret going to the afterparty, for the tingly titillating anticipation of seeing brian, victor or gordon walk up those stairs at grand rokk is something that will stay with siggimus forever
besides, actually meeting them would probably have been too much :/
thank you violent femmes, it was sheer joy to be part of this with you
