siggimus went river rafting saturday & survived!!<\/p>\n
*picks nose*<\/p>\n
please excuse that, but sometimes there’s just no stopping those buggers…<\/p>\n
took colleagues river rafting in hv\u00edt\u00e1 river (more like a greenish brown, actually) on saturday<\/p>\n
first steps into the river were tough. cold. <\/p>\n
brrrr cold!<\/p>\n
the first splash, dousing the siggimus head, most of the ice cold, dirty, glacier water subsequently running down the siggimus neck, getting his t-shirt & underpants wet, was not quite as bad<\/p>\n
gradually, siggimus got used to that<\/p>\n
there was rowing & cheering & loutish hollaring & making fun of people in other rafts during the calm bits<\/p>\n
a brief stop, where the completely insane are free to jump off an 8-metre cliff into the river, at their own risk<\/p>\n
about 5-6 were insane enough to actually jump<\/p>\n
all of them surfaced<\/p>\n
nothing serious broken<\/p>\n
then off again, for a wee bit of rowing & rafting & being heroish<\/p>\n
the moment things quieted down a bit, wars were declared<\/p>\n
one raft out of six had a buckety kinda thing for shoveling water out of it<\/p>\n
mind you, this contraption was mostly used to shovel water into the other rafts & onto the people in them<\/p>\n
compared to the measly oars the others were equipped with to splash with, it was indeed a fearsome weapon<\/p>\n
& consequently, coveted by the crews of all the other rafts<\/p>\n
soon, guerilla warfare was afoot, with pirates jumping from ship to ship trying to steal stuff or throw people to the sharks<\/p>\n
siggimus ventured over to the best armed ship & attempted to get sonja the cute into the river<\/p>\n
it didn’t work (while puny, she is<\/em> cute & had 4 burly men at her disposal, holding on to her) & sonja looked at siggimus with great surprise & a tinge of hurt in her big blue eyes: “but siggimus!! i thought we were friends?!!?”<\/p>\n about 5 mins later or so, siggimus manages to scramble back to his boat & his crew<\/p>\n still dry<\/p>\n mostly<\/p>\n annoyed at having his plans thus thwarted, siggimus starts looking for another victim<\/p>\n finds one in the enemy<\/em><\/p>\n just misses her as her boat passes by just out of reach, but instead grabs on to the next wee chick; karlotta<\/p>\n it took about 5 mins of tugging & pulling & huffing & yanking & puffing, but siggimus finally manages to get her in the water!! yay!!!<\/p>\n just as he looks up to celebrate & scream “1-0 for siggimus”, he sees mr. petersen descending through the air, arms flapping, landing next to him, ready for a bout of wrestling<\/p>\n in a split second (no time for rps!), siggimus realises he’s going down & decides to take someone with him; grabs back on tight to mr. petersen & jumps overboard in a graceful summersault<\/p>\n 2-1<\/p>\n muddy. cold. <\/p>\n eventually siggimus makes it back into his boat, letting the water drain out through the legs of the suit<\/p>\n shortly after & way too soon, they get to the destination & wade ashore<\/p>\n hot chocolate & 60% stroh greet the cold & wet & dirty travellers<\/p>\n in about 20 mins or so, some feeling started returning to the siggimus feet, the water in his sneakers making a squishy sound<\/p>\n after a quick change of clothes (a short experiment proved that litres of water could be wrung from each and every piece of clothing siggimus had on), beer was guzzled & food eaten & songs sung & shins bumped into stuff & laughters laughed<\/p>\n all in all, not a bad day \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
